Coming off the back of a strong 2021 property market, CoreLogic revealed that Australian housing values grew 22.1% last year with December auctions being the busiest in the 14 years since reporting commenced.

Should this cycle change, the market may become more balanced. More properties will likely hit the market, resulting in greater competition (between vendors) and days of properties on the market.

Last weekend, Melbourne had the highest number of auctions in Australia. Variable interest rates are still at low levels enabling buyers to remain in the market.
